What's the secret?

To understand how our technology works, it’s important to know the difference between odor masking and neutralization.

Masking adds a stronger scent to an area to “cover up” an existing malodor. The replacement fragrance is more potent than the unwanted smell. You no longer smell the malodor, but it is still there. This process does nothing to eliminate the problem odor.

Odor Neutralization eliminates or causes malodorous molecules to be imperceptible on a molecular level through direct counteractant measures with an additional compound. Odor pairing, or encapsulation, chemically alters malodors, creating new molecules that are either odorless or non-volatile enough to no longer be perceived.

Vaportek products contain an essential oil blend of plant, flower, and tree extracts. This essential oil compound is volatized into the air as dry vapor and pairs with odorous molecules in the air to neutralize organic malodors. This process gets rid of pungent smells by breaking down the foul-smelling molecules.

Why Essential Oils?

While Vaportek products introduce an additional fragrance into an area, our complex formula of naturally occurring essential oils takes things one step further to eliminate the source of malodorous molecules through encapsulation or odor-pairing neutralization technology.

We have carefully crafted the correct blend of oils for effective and permanent odor elimination. Our formula offers broad spectrum neutralization of odor-causing compounds, including aldehydes, amines, sulfides, lactones, and more.

Jack Bryson spotted a new opportunity for the technology. He refined the system to neutralize odors using dry vapor from a replaceable membrane. This breakthrough became the foundation of Vaportek.

Why Dry Vapor?

Vaportek’s dry vapor delivery system sets it apart from other malodor solutions. Other methods can leave behind wet or sticky residue. However, dry vapor delivery is residue-free and adds no moisture. This highly effective delivery method penetrates porous materials such as wallboard, carpeting, wood, and insulation, neutralizing odors at the source.
